Nestled among towering pines, Bad Rock, a Montana Bed and Breakfast Inn embraces ten private acres of rolling fields and evergreen groves twenty minutes from Glacier National Park, one of Mother Nature’s great extravaganzas.
Kalispell, Whitefish, Amtrak, Glacier International Airport and seven golf courses are just fifteen minutes away. Big Fork and two addional golf courses are within twenty minutes. We are the only B&B in Flathead Valley centrally located for all of these attractions. For the children, Big Sky Water Park is located on Highway 2 four miles from Bad Rock.
Glacier National Park , Montana, offers world-class vistas and hiking second to none. There’s cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. Fly fishing and horseback riding, white water rafting to exploring or touring in nearby Whitefish, Kalispell and Bigfork. Golf on one of nine nearby courses. Or gourmet dining followed by a luxurious hot tub soak.
Our main house and bed and breakfast has three beautiful guest rooms to choose from. Bad Rock Junction is what we call the two square-hewn log buildings just a few steps away, which offers more private lodging options.
A luxurious hot tub sits off in its own private corner of the lawn, looking out at the Big Mountain Ski Resort and the Rocky Mountains. Guests reserve the hot tub for their own 30 minutes of private soaking time. Terry cloth robes and thongs are standard amenities in every guest room. The hot tub is enclosed with a fence that affords both privacy and views of the beautiful sunsets.
Guests often gather for an impromptu social event in the TV room at the house. There is a refrigerator at the bar that is kept stocked for the guests with soft drinks and fruit juices. Pretzels and other little snacks are kept on the bar, there is also a microwave for guest use... help yourself to some fresh popcorn!
The large dining room accommodates 14 guests at two large tables where breakfast is served. Breakfast is served Montana style, hearty, plentiful and delicious, from a collection of unique Bad Rock recipes. Breakfast delights include Wild Rice Quiche, Smoked Salmon with Poached Egg, Pear Cinnamon Oatmeal Pie, White Chocolate Apricot Scones; and the guests’ favorite, fluffy Belgium Waffles heaped with wild huckleberries. Guests are encouraged to linger at breakfast, where the conversations will likely center on yesterday’s hiking experiences, current activities at Glacier National Park, and the latest grizzly bear stories.
Most all guests at Bad Rock B&B Inn come to experience Glacier National Park. Glacier National Park is perhaps the most beautiful of all our national parks. It is located in the northwest corner of Montana just east of the Flathead Valley and the towns of Big Fork, Columbia Falls, Kalispell and Whitefish. The boundaries of the park enclose over one million acres of pristine mountain wilderness, and there is just one road through it, the Going-To-The-Sun Road. It is 57 miles long and is considered by many to be the most spectacular drive in the United States, rivaling the Alps for its scenic views. The Going-To-The-Sun Road bisects the park, running from the west entrance of the park at West Glacier to the east entrance at St. Mary.
